Bristol Park
Medical Group Announces Deployment and Successful Audit
Review of Innovative Integrated Reporting System to
Measure and Affect P4P Clinical Measures and Improve
Patient Care
Santa
Ana, CA -- Bristol Park Medical
Group has successfully deployed and passed audit review
of an automated data reporting product to self-report
its P4P clinical measures to the IHA for the 2004
measurement year as well as monitor key clinical
measures across their entire member population. The
AscenderTM application suite from Infotech
Systems Management is at the heart of the new system and
will also allow authorized Bristol Park Medical Group
personnel to view the 2005 P4P clinical measures and
other key clinical measures throughout the current
measurement year.
“The
Ascender
P4P reporting product effectively integrates data from
disparate sources to provide real-time performance
results and support analyses that identify opportunities
to improve provider compliance with clinical management
targets,” comments Michael Campbell with
HealthcareData.com, LLC (HDC) on his P4P audit review of
Bristol Park. “The product’s design is user-friendly and
web-accessible, which meets Bristol Park’s requirement
that the application be available to staff members
located at multiple office locations.”
Mr.
Campbell further commented, “Bristol
Park’s P4P reporting
using
Infotech's Ascender
product is, without
question, one of the best health care performance data
reporting applications I have audited. The product
enabled the provider organization to not only
successfully comply with P4P reporting requirements, but
also to implement smart strategies for monitoring member
health status and migrating to EMR.
Bristol Park’s P4P reporting product and clinical
management practices demonstrate not only a best
practice among self-reporting Provider Organizations,
but also illustrate that all health care organizations,
regardless of size, can successfully navigate the
challenges of performance reporting and bring real value
to its members. ”
"Bristol Park Medical Group has embraced the IHA’s P4P
measures as a means of bringing patient care
improvements, according to Bristol Park’s Medical
Director, Dr Mark Schafer. “Using Infotech’s Ascender
P4P and CM modules means that we are able to look across
our entire patient population, not just those counted in
the P4P denominator, and on a weekly basis we can
proactively reach out to our patients who according to
the measures need additional care. Having access to key
clinical measures allows Bristol Park to introduce more
aggressive disease management programs in the near
future.”
Pat
Dolphin, Director of MIS at Bristol Park says, “We knew
that working with Infotech would bring the integration
expertise we needed to draw data from our administrative
systems, pharmacy files and lab providers. We quickly
brought together all these data sources into the
Ascender product to generate useful views by provider,
specialty, location, and even across our patient
population.”
John Somers, Chief Operating Officer for Bristol Park
stated, “Infotech saw our vision to create a technology
solution which would allow us to capture this additional
revenue stream from our HMO partners. It has been both
morally and financially rewarding to provide the care
our patients deserve.”
