IHA P4P 2005 Measurement Set Now
Includes Physician Incentive
Bonus:
Physician groups can receive up to
an additional 10% for a
physician-level incentive program
incorporating regular measurement
and feedback on clinical metrics and
patient experience to individual
physicians.
This payment is in addition to
financial incentives for clinical
performance and patient experience;
it is designed to have a multiplier
effect on physician group
performance. To qualify, groups
should have an approved policy
describing a physician-level
incentive and reward program based
on regular measurement and feedback
to physicians on individual
performance for clinical measures
and patient experience surveys and
an incentive program based on those
results. The incentives may be
financial or other types of rewards/consequences. Regular
feedback and rewards should be
instituted prior to December 31,
2005. |

Ascender P4P goes beyond self-reporting clinical
measures at the end of the year.
Reports can be viewed throughout the measurement year.
Data compiles can be scheduled weekly or monthly, with
new data views generated using current source data. This
type of regular measurement of and feedback on clinical
metrics for individual physicians can lead to additional
P4P bonuses. Physician groups can use this feedback to
proactively affect their P4P scores during the year and
to create significant improvements in patient care.
